GIOVANNI PETRILLI It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing on May 6, 2002 of Giovanni Petrilli at Seven Oaks General Hospital, at the age of 68 years. He was predeceased by his mother Grazia; and his father Pasquale; his mother-in-law Anna Martini and father-in-law Antonio Martini; sister Natalina Provenza and brothers-in-law, Vincenzo Provenza and Giovanni Martini. He is survived by his wife of 42 years Ida; his children, Sergio (Irene) and Pasquale (Susan) granddaughter Daytona-Leigh; brother Bartolomeo (Giovanna) and sisters, Filomena (Raffaele), Maria (Saverio) and Fedora (Gioacchino) and their families; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law and their families, many cousins, nieces and nephews from Italy and Winnipeg as well as many friends. Giovanni was born on February 4, 1934 in S. Bartolomeo in Galdo, P. Benevento, Italy. In 1953 he moved to Venezuela, where he lived for five years before moving to Winnipeg. Married in 1960, Giovanni was a dedicated painter up until his retirement. His greatest passions in life, revolved around soccer (Napoli) and Formula-1 racing (Ferrari), reading, hunting, meeting friends at the bar to play cards and taking care of his family. Prayers will be said Thursday, May 9 at 7:30 p.m. at Holy Rosary Church, 510 River Ave. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, May 10 at 10:00 a.m. also at the church with Rev. Fr. Ron Pasinato presiding at the Eucharist. Entombment will follow in the Queen of Heaven Mausoleum, 3990 Portage Ave. Pallbearers will be Rosario Ferlaino, Armando Ferlaino, Saverio Bruni, Stefano Reino, Pino Reino and Mauro Reino.
