Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryANTON JAMES PFEIFER ("CURLY") It is with deep regret that we announce the passing on Sunday, May 5, 2002 of Anton James Pfeifer, aged 77 years, at Winnipeg, MB. Curly will be sadly missed by all who knew him. Left to cherish his memory are his sons, Rod Pfeifer of Lethbridge, AB and Kim Pfeifer (Lindsey) of Calgary, AB; sister Marjorie Marshall of Vancouver, BC; brother Neil Pfeifer (Diane) of Calgary, AB; step brother James Pretty (Kathy) of Colorado; brother-in-law Metro McKitten of Winnipeg; and nephew Brett Sopotiuk of Victoria. Curly was predeceased by his father Anton John Pfeifer; his mother Bertha Marie Letain; beloved brother John Pfeifer (Glennis) and sister May McKitten. Other dear friends, Lydia McKenzie, Ray Bibeau, Bill Wallace, of Winnipeg and the Campbell and Arsenault families of Lac du Bonnet will sadly miss his passing. Curly was born near Lac du Bonnet, MB in 1924. He joined the Canadian forces in 1943 with the rank of Signalman. He served in Canada, the UK and Europe until 1946. Upon his return to Manitoba, he began a long career with the Manitoba Highways Department retiring in 1986. Through his years of service he gave many summer students employment and the opportunity to fund their advanced education. In accordance with his wishes he will be cremated and there will not be a formal funeral service. A farewell luncheon for family and friends will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., Friday, May 10 at the Fraternal Order of Eagles, located at 3459 Pembina Hwy. Everyone is welcome. If friends so desire, they may make donations in his name to the Heart and Stroke fund or the Salvation Army. LEATHERDALE GARDINER 1501 Waverley Street 949-4860
