Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryEMILIE AMELIA (MILLIE) GRACE BARKER It is with great sadness that the family of Millie Barker announce her sudden passing on May 4, 2002. Millie was predeceased by her parents, George Arthur and Betty Barker. She is survived by her brother George and his wife Mary; nephew Bob Barker; nieces, Merrilyn (Keith) Hall, Carol (Marlowe) Hiebert; and great-niece Cassidy, all of Winnipeg. She had close ties with her cousin Doreen (Boyd) Hensley of Asheville, NC. Family was important to Millie and she regularly kept in touch with distant relatives in England, Scotland and New Zealand. Millie was born on January 11, 1920 and lived all her life in Winnipeg. In her earlier days she loved to travel and was active at Trinity Baptist Church where she was Sunday School secretary for many years. She was employed 25 years with the Timothy Eaton Company prior to her affiliation with Bishop Printing Co. where she continued to work every day until her passing. She was a loyal member of Silver Heights United Church for over 30 years and especially enjoyed her involvement with the ladies of Unit No. 4. Millie will be remembered by her family and friends for her kindness and generosity and will be sadly missed by all who knew her. Times spent at family gatherings and special annual events will be cherished memories. Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 10 at 10:00 a.m. at Thomson Funeral Chapel, 669 Broadway.
