JOHN A. MASSZI John A. Masszi, 53, of South Bend, Indiana, passed away at 12:36 p.m., Saturday, May 4, 2002 in Lakeland Hospital, St. Joseph, MI. John was born on June 13, 1948 in Ugod Veszprem Megyi, Hungary, to John and Mary (Gyorgy) Masszi, both of whom preceded him in death. John moved to South Bend, IN in 1949 and had lived in Winnipeg, MB for 25 years. He was currently employed with the South Bend Parks Department. He is survived by two daughters, Angie A. Masszi of Warren, MB; Jessica A. Masszi of Winnipeg, MB; three grandchildren, Josh, Cody, Riley; his sister Theresa (Ervin) Nowaczewski of South Bend; two nieces, Tina (Jim) Holtsberry and Terri Nowaczewski; one nephew, Michael (Bonnie) Nowaczewski and by his close friends, Michael and Carolyn Dyszkiewicz. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 9 in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Dr., South Bend, IN. Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery, South Bend, IN. Friends may call from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home. John was the President of the Michiana Fitness Walking Club and a very active race walker.
