CECIL DAVIS Cecil Davis, age 86 years, passed away on Wednesday, April 24, 2002. He leaves to mourn his beloved wife of 64 years, Anne (fondly called Hoodle) children, Jerry (Darlene), Ethel (Bob) grandchildren, Marci (Rodney), Myles, Marlene and Debbie; great-grandchildren, Cheri and Amanda; and great-great-grand-daughter Katelynn. Predeceased by his parents, Ethel and Moshe, as well as his six siblings, Cecil was born and raised in Winnipegs North end, where his own family would later grow and flourish. He was a manufacturers agent and worked hard to build a business, Cecil Davis and Son Agencies Ltd., for himself and his son, Jerry, with whom he worked as a lifetime partner. His passions included Yiddishkeit and family, as well as his love of people. He was a man of integrity with the highest of morals and principals treating everyone with respect and kindness. He was a member of Rosh Pina Synagogue; Menorah Lodge No. 167 A.F. and A.M.; Kinsman Refit Centre; Hadasah WIZO lifetime associate member and North West Commercial Travellers. He believed that the true measure of a man was not what he took from the world, but the legacy he left behind. He touched many hearts in his travels and will be sadly missed by his family and friends. Funeral services were held on Friday, April 26, 2002, at Rosh Pina Synagogue. Pallbearers were grandson Myles Davis; nephews, Mark Cohen, Neil Cohen and Bob Feldman; cousin Jack Schnoor and Michael Zentner. Honorary pallbearers were Masonic brothers, Sam Arenson, Ike Vickar, Arnold Packer and Max Pollick, as well as an honour guard of Menorah Lodge No. 167. Contributions can be made to Rosh Pina Congregation, Manitoba Heart and Stroke Foundation, or a charity of your choice.
