HAROLD "DUDLEY" JONES Harold Dudley Jones was born Saturday, October 3, 1931, at Chester, England. After arriving in Canada, Dudleys family settled in Gainsborough, SK. Dudley married Mavis F. Gower, Sunday, January 30, 1955, at Winnipeg, MB. After their marriage, Dudley (with his own family started), lived in Morden, Winnipeg, Norway House, Ashern, and finally moved to The Pas in the mid 60s. When younger, he worked at a bank and then worked for many years in Indian Affairs. Eventually he worked for the province with Social Services. He really enjoyed working with families and children and many times we had an extra kid at the table sometimes for days, weeks, or months. Dudley always loved the north and was very happy living in The Pas. He enjoyed his times with Kinsmen and Elks. He taught hunter safety for over 25 years and loved a good duck hunt or goose shoot. He had many hobbies throughout his life but number one was always music. He played in many bands with many different musicians and loved every minute of it. Dudley was involved in Theatre 53 when it first started and also involved in the Trappers Festival for sometime. Dudley also enjoyed the "cabin" at Clearwater a lot, and we had many good laughs there. Dad always had a sharp sense of humour and could get a smile or laugh out of people no matter what the situation. This is what we will all miss the most. Im sure that wherever he is now, he is either "cracking them up" or "tickling the ivories." Dudley passed away Tuesday, April 30, 2002, at St. Pauls Personal Care Home, The Pas, aged 70 years. He is survived by his sons, Ron (Val) Jones, Darryl (Karen) Jones, Geoff (Diana) Jones, Derek (Kim) Jones; daughters, Brenda (Ewen) Wood, Patsy (Ken) Hiatt; first wife Mavis (Gower) sister Audrey (Meredith) present wife Ginny; stepchildren, Mark, Abigail, Candy, and Monica; 23 grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Dudley was predeceased by his father Harold; mother Ada; and brother-in-law Allan. Prayers and visitation were held Friday, May 3, 7:30 p.m., at the Chapel of Hemauer Funeral Home. The funeral service was held Saturday, May 4, 2:00 p.m., at Christ Church, Anglican, The Pas, with Ven. Grahme Spear and Canon Fletcher Stewart presiding. Music ministry was organist Isobel Halcrow and the Christ Church Choir. Following the interment prayers at Lakeside Cemetery, a time of fellowship and sharing, was held at Christ Church Parish Hall. Pallbearers were Ron Jones, Darryl Jones, Geoff Jones, Derek Jones, Ewen Wood, and Ken Hiatt. If friends so desire, donations made to Alzheimer Manitoba, 120 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB, R3C 4G2, would be appreciated by Dudleys family. Hemauer Funeral Home, The Pas were in care of arrangements. 623-3261
