DALE NORMAN MARTZ
Date of Passing: May 07, 2002
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDALE NORMAN MARTZ Dales family announces his sudden passing on May 7, 2002 at the age of 53 years. Left to remember him are his daughter, Tamara; mother, Mary; brothers, Daryl (Priscilla) and Duane (Simone) sister, Deana; nephews and niece, Charles (Chuck), Christopher, Samuel, Steven, Sean and Sydney; stepsons, Mike and Mark Bobei; foster daughters, Myla and Sonia; all those who called him Grampa or Unkie; and his dogs, Ruffles and Frisco. Dale was predeceased by his father, Charlie, in 1970. Dale worked in various construction trades and drove heavy equipment. He was a gifted craftsman and could design, build and repair just about anything. Always fiercely proud of his North End roots, Dale was a scrappy, street-wise North Ender who was intensely loyal to his friends and always the first to lend a hand. The seeds of his love for the outdoors, dogs and horses were planted in his youth during summer holidays with his beloved grandparents, Hector and Edna, in Stony Mountain, with Aunty Bertha and Aunty Eva on their farm, and on family camping trips in the Whiteshell. Plans for this years fishing trips were well underway and fishing buddy, Rob, had received a new tackle box from Dale the day before his collapse. Dale marched to the beat of his own drum and a unique rhythm it was. He was fully alive to his lifes joys and tragedies and lived each moment at full tilt. People like him are not easy to live with but, they are impossible to forget. He gave much to others and kept little for himself. Relaxing with a payday pizza in front of the T.V. he said, "You know Chuckie, life doesnt get much better than this. At least for me it doesnt". Funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 11, at 7:00 p.m. in the chapel of Voyage Funeral Home, 220 Hespeler at Henderson Hwy. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Dales memory to the Winnipeg Humane Society or the Winnipeg Boys & Girls Clubs. Arrangements entrusted to: VOYAGE FUNERAL HOME 220 HESPELER AT HENDERSON HWY. 668-3151

Dale old buddy old pal I am saddened to hear of your passing. We had a lot of good times back in the 60's. Memorial Park, lots of scraps, lots of good times. I moved to Vancouver back in 1978 and lost touch with most of my Winnipeg buddies. Never did form close relationship after that. I will always remember you and the good times we had. - Posted by: Gerald Leonard J Sebastian (Friend) on: Jun 25, 2018
