WILLIAM SINGBELL May 29, 1917 - May 9, 2002 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of William Singbell, aged 84, on Thursday, May 9, 2002. Grampa passed away peacefully at home, in his sleep. He was predeceased by his parents Roy and Helena; brothers, Harry, Irvin, John; sister Elsie; and daughter Lynda. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Olga of 60 years; son Elmer; grandchildren, Teresa, Roger, Andrea and Brenda; great-grandchildren, Matthew, Candace, Chantel, Tyler, Ryan and Stephanie; brother Leonard; and many members of his extended family and friends whom he loved dearly and who love him. Born in Beausejour on May 29, 1917, Grampa grew up on the family farm in Golden Bay. After he married, Nanny and Grampa farmed in Golden Bay for a couple of years. After that, Grampa went to Dryden and worked in the bush. After a short time he came back and moved the family to Winnipeg. Once in Winnipeg he got a job in the stock yards at Burns and had various responsibilities there over the next 35 years, until his retirement in 1983. All the while, he lovingly raised two wonderful children. Soon to be followed by grandchildren and great-grandchildren, all whom he adored. After retirement he enjoyed spending time with his family and two puppies (Duchess and Pepper). He also enjoyed country drives/visits and puttering around in the yard and garage. Pallbearers will be Karl Schoenborn, Wildred Schoenborn, Garry Singbell, Ricky Singbell, Garry Wasylowski and Larry Ulrich. Special thanks to Dr. D. Miller and Dr. Rabson for their kind and compassionate care of Grampa. Prayers will be held on Tuesday, May 14 at 7:00 p.m. in the chapel of Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main St. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 15, at 2:30 p.m. also in the chapel, with Pastor D. Engel presiding. Interment in Glen Eden Memorial Gardens. If friends so desire, flowers may be sent to the funeral home. Arrangements entrusted to: GLEN EDEN FUNERAL HOME 4477 MAIN STREET 338-7111
