AGNES MARY BEAR (THOMAS) September 19, 1912- May 9, 2002 Peacefully with her family by her side, our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, Agnes Mary Bear (Thomas) of Peguis, MB, passed away on May 9, 2002 at the age of 89 years at the Percy E. Moore Hospital. Agnes leaves to mourn her children, Mary Govereau, Doris Damour, Russell (Edith) Bear, Shirley Stevenson, Max (Darlene) Bear, Linda (Sherman) Sinclair and Douglas (Melissa) Bear; her precious 35 grandchildren, 72 great-grandchildren and 19 great-great-grandchildren; her brothers, Arnold Spence, Wilbert Spence, Fred (Lillian) Spence and Vernon Spence; her daughter-in-law Josephine Bear, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Agnes was predeceased by her mother and father, Mary and George Thomas; her stepfather Joe Spence; her husband of 52 years, Gordon Bear (1981) her sons, Wallace, Leslie, Lester, Oswald and others in infancy; her sisters, Violet Thomas, Mary McCorrister, Greda Spence and Garda Favell; her brothers, Lloyd, Lawrence, Felix, Walter and Stanley Spence and her son-in-law Emile Damour. Agnes was a hardworking woman all of her life. She raised 13 children and she brought up two grandchildren as her own. She loved to sit around and drink tea with her family and friends to tell stories, to laugh and joke with everyone she met and knew. Agnes liked picking berries and pickling. Grannie went to church many years and loved her Lord and Saviour. She loved singing hymns and she knew many hymns off by heart. Our family would like to thank the Peguis Personal Care Home and staff, Percy E. Moore Hospital nurses and staff. Gladys Bear, Thelma and Warren for their special care of Mom. Peguis Chief and Council, Anderson Family Funeral Home, Ron and Anita Favell, Pastor Hill and John McKay for all your love, care and help during the loss of our mother. Wake services will be held at the residence of Russell and Edith Bear in Peguis, MB on Saturday, May 11 and on Sunday, May 12 at 7:00 p.m. both evenings. The funeral service will be held at the Peguis Community Hall, Peguis, MB on Monday, May 13 at 2:00 p.m. with a viewing beginning at 1:00 p.m. Jim Anderson will be officiating.
