Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryALBERT E. DUHAME April 19, 1919 - April 27, 2002 It is with great sadness our family announces the passing of our dear father and grandfather, Albert Duhame, age 83 years, after a tragic car accident on Christmas Day as well as battling cancer. Dad was born in Dauphin, MB, April 19, 1919 and left home at an early age making his own way. Dad was a member of the Canadian Armed Forces and served two years during the Second World War. Over the years, Dad was employed at several places such as Scott & Sons Trucking, Reimers Transport, City of St. Vital, Trimac & Bruce Brothers Excavating until he eventually retired from Kleysons Transport. He was always working on something and continued to work up until the day of the accident. He loved the outdoors and being outside, either tinkering on his truck or being with horses. For many years, Dad owned and operated "Diamond D Riding Stables" which was very well known throughout the city. He will be sadly missed by daughter Penny (Stan) sons, Jim (Gloria), Jeff (Dee) and grandchildren, Robyn (Jay), Ashley and Kayla. He is also survived by sisters, Jean and June of Pittmeadows, BC, as well as numerous nieces and friends. Dad was predeceased by his parents, Thomas and Edna; infant son Thomas Charles; sisters, Peg and May and brothers, Linton and Henry. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the R.C.M.P., Headingley highway patrol, Winnipeg paramedics and all who were at the scene of the accident. Also thanks to the staff at CancerCare and Health Sciences Centre. A private family memorial was held Thursday, May 9, 2002. Dad lived life to the fullest each and every day. The hardships he endured, he took in stride. He had a special charm that was all his own and he had a sparkle in his eyes whenever he laughed. Though he appeared tough on the outside, inside he was a loving, caring and humble man. "Dad, we will miss you so very much. You fought so hard to stay for so very long, with such will and determination, you were so strong. No more suffering, no more pain, no need to search nor roam, God saw you were tired, so came to bring you home." In lieu of flowers, donations in Dads memory may be made to CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB, R3A 0C8, the Manitoba Brain Injury Association, 825 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, MB, R3A 1M5 or The Bar "F" Horse Rescue Society, 33172 Dewdney Trunk Rd., Mission, BC, V2V 5X4.
