Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryPHILOMENE WYLIE (COULOMBE) December 4, 1918 - May 9, 2002 Peacefully, at her residence, Philomene Wylie, beloved wife of the late Herbert Marion Wylie, joined him in the arms of the Lord. Phil grew up in Transcona. In 1941 she married Marion, residing in Transcona until 1967. After a year in Montreal the family settled in Windsor Park. Many "endless summers" were enjoyed at the camp at Ottermere, ON. Phil resided at Misericordia Place for the past two years. Phil was a very giving person, devoted to her family. Her children and her grandchildren, her extended family and her neighbours enjoyed her company and her hospitality. Once her children were grown, Phil became active in her neighbourhood. She was most proud of the Windsor Park wall, a prominent example of positive community activism. Phil was predeceased by her husband of 60 years; her sisters, Madeline Faso and Genevieve Everton and her brothers, Joe Coulombe and Ralph Coulombe. She is survived by her children, Carole (Ron) Basarab, Frank Wylie and Peter Wylie; her grandchildren, Philip Wylie and Sloane, Ben and Adam Basarab; sisters, Frances Lubilanecki, Irene (Dave) Arnott and Theresa Craig; sisters-in-law, Francie Glacken and Theresa Coulombe; brother-in-law Ken (Helen) Wylie and many nieces and nephews. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 14 at St. Marys Cathedral. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Misericordia Place, c/o The Misericordia Health Care Centre Foundation, in recognition of the loving care Phil received while in residence.
