Born: Mar 30, 1918
Date of Passing: May 10, 2002
Offer Condolences or MemoryOLGA McKITTEN (SHARHAN) (nee ROMANUK) After a short illness, on Friday, May 10, 2002, Olga passed away at Seven Oaks Hospital. She was predeceased by her parents, Nick and Anne; brother Joe; husband Alex Sharhan and sons, Kenneth and Alvin. Olga is survived by husband Matt McKitten; daughter Judy (John) Gowron of Oakbank; granddaughter Leah of Carmel, CA; brother Jack of Brandon; and many nieces and nephews in Canada and the United States. Olga was born in Raymore, SK, on March 30, 1918. She was married to Alex in 1935 and celebrated 51 years of marriage. After living in Saskatchewan, they lived in the Brandon area until moving to Winnipeg in the early 1940s. She was a homemaker for most of her married life and found pleasure in sewing, cooking and gardening. Olga was a generous woman who took great pride in her family and their accomplishments. After her marriage to Matt in 1988, they spent time together taking many wonderful trips to Europe, the United States and Canada. Matt was a wonderful husband and companion to her until the time of her death. The family would like to thank the staff of Seven Oaks Hospital, 5th Floor Unit 5, especially Lisa, Nicole and Marty who were so helpful explaining things to us as her illness progressed. How we wish all families could have the experience of dealing with such wonderful caregivers. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 16, at 10:00 a.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St., with Fr. Myron Klysh officiating. Interment will follow in Glen Eden Memorial Gardens. Donations in her memory may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, the Winnipeg Humane Society or the charity of your choice. She will be lovingly remembered by family and friends. Have a peaceful journey. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
