PAUL SIKORA It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Paul Sikora, beloved husband of Betty of Lac du Bonnet, MB, at the age of 93 years, on Sunday, May 12, 2002, at the Pinawa Hospital. Paul was born in Ladywood, MB. His family moved to Brightstone where he met and married his wife, Betty. They moved to Landerville, MB, where they raised five children. At age 81 he retired and moved to Lac du Bonnet. He was part of a group that originated the Pioneer Club and remained active. His loved ones and friends were his most treasured possessions. He will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by his family: his wife Betty of 68 years; two sons, Lawrence and his wife Eileen of Lac du Bonnet, Edward and his wife Shirley of Winnipeg; three daughters, Gladys Melquist (Norman) of Lac du Bonnet, Elsie Worona (Ed) of Lac du Bonnet and Kathy MacPherson (Mac) of Gimli; grandchildren, Dennis Melquist (Marlene), Janice Thomson (Bill), Lorraine Sommerhalter (Marv), Grant Sikora, Debbie Cunliffe (Bill), Randy Worona (Shannon), Karen Stadnyk (Trevor), Wayne Sikora, Earl Sikora (Claudine) 13 great-grandchildren; also many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents; a son in infancy; four brothers and one sister. The family would like to give sincere thanks to Dr. Petkau and the nurses and staff at the Pinawa Hospital. A memorial mass will be held on Thursday, May 16 at 11:00 a.m. in the Notre Dame du Lac Roman Catholic Church, Lac du Bonnet, MB, with Rev. Fr. Richard Machura, the celebrant. Interment will follow in the Lac du Bonnet cemetery. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations in his memory may be made to the Lac du Bonnet Personal Care Home, Lac Du Bonnet, MB, ROE 1AO. God saw you getting tired, so he gently wrapped his arms around you and softly whispered "Come to me."
