AVELINO "BEN" MENDOZA Peacefully, following a lengthy illness, it is with deep sadness that we announce the death of Ben Mendoza. With his family by his side, on Sunday, May 12, 2002, Ben Mendoza, aged 83 years, at the St. Boniface Hospital. Ben will be sadly missed by his loving wife, Filomena L. Mendoza. Ben is also survived by his children, Leonila (Renato) Sordan of the Philippines, Alejandro (Zeny) Mendoza of the Philippines, Reny (Mareng) Mendoza, Larry (Luming) Mendoza, Jocy (Celso) Javate, Elvie Mendoza, all of Winnipeg. Grandchildren, Joel (Debbie), Raymond, Andre, J.R., Alex, Alore, Debbie, Dennis, Derick, Bennet and Mitchell. Brothers and sisters, Neneng, Oleng, Eniong and Nena. Ben was predeceased by his parents, Jacinta and Faustino Mendoza. The family express their appreciation to all the staff and Doctors at the St. Boniface Hospital. Lamay will take place on Wednesday, May 15, between the time of 6:00 p.m. - 1:00 a.m. with prayers being said at 9:00 p.m. in Leatherdale Gardiner Funeral Chapel, 1501 Waverley St. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, May 16, at 10:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Victory Church, 254 Arnold Ave., with Reverend Father Henryk Laciak celebrant. Interment to follow in the Waverley Memorial Gardens, 1501 Waverley St. Pallbearers will be Albert Capiral, Jojo Cunanan, Tony Macapagal, Tony Laderas, Danny Ilarde, Reny Hipolito.
