IRMA META BERNIER (nee SPREEN) It is with great sadness our family announces the passing of our beloved sister Irma, on May 13, 2002 at the Grace Hospital. Irma was born in Jackfishlake, MB, on July 16, 1930. Irma moved to Toronto, where she met her husband Guy, and were married in 1964. Irma and Guy then moved to Moncton, NB, where they started and operated a successful catering business for many years. They later moved back to Manitoba, to be close to her family and friends. Irma was predeceased by her husband Guy of 32 years; her sister Hildegarde; her parents, August and Charlotte; and her "special mother" Aunt Meta. Left to cherish her memory are her sisters, Lily, Betty (Pete) brother Albert; nephews, Lance, Randy, Brad, Kenneth, Trevor, Brian, Martin; and their families. We will miss Irma for her timely thoughtfulness to send everyone personalized cards and calls for every occasion or just to chat. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held on Friday, May 17 at 11:00 a.m. at Gilbart Funeral Home in Selkirk, MB. Interment to follow at Jackfishlake Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations in her memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Manitoba Division, 193 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, MB. Honorary pallbearers will be her nephews.
