JEAN MAHE Paisiblement, le lundi 13 mai 2002, est decede a lage de 77 ans, M. Jean Mahe, epoux de feu Henriette Mahe (nee Pelland), a lHopital General de St-Boniface, MB. Il laisse dans le deuil ses trois enfants, Paul (Linne), Louise (Maurice Legal) et Gilles; cinq petits-enfants Christine, Francine, Gabrielle Mahe et Sylvie, Joel Legal; une soeur Clotilde Fontaine; ses belles-soeurs Violet Pelland, Olive Pelland, Marguerite Pelland, Raymonde Sym et Evelyn Mahe; un beau-frere Henri Laplume; ainsi que de nombreux neveux et nieces. Le regrette defunt fut precede dans la tombe par ses parents Francois Mahe et Isabelle Saive, ses freres Augustin, Joseph, Francois et Antoine; ses soeurs Marie Gratton, Therese Laplume, Marguerite Choiselat et Madeleine Blain. Ne a Ste-Anne-des-Chenes, MB, le 9 novembre 1924, Jean demenagea a St-Boniface avec sa famille lorsquil etait jeune homme. Il travailla pour plusieurs employeurs avant de se retrouver chez Modern Dairies ou il passa la grande partie de sa carriere en temps quingenieur. Grace a sa tenacite et ses etudes il obtint son certificat de "Premiere Classe" en genie en 1967, honneur quil detenta jusqua sa retraite en 1989. Homme toujours pres de sa famille, il se devoua davantage a elle a la suite du deces de sa chere Henriette en 1986 et de sa retraite en 1988, etant la pour repondre aux besoins de ses freres et souers. Cependant ce sont ses enfants et surtout ses petits-enfants qui occuperent la place de choix dans son coeur. Au revoir Papa/Pepere, tu nous manqueras pour toujours. Des prieres auront lieu le jeudi 16 mai a 19h00 au Salon Morturaire Desjardins situe au 357, rue DesMeurons. La Messe des funerailles sera celebree le vendredi 17 mai 2002 a 10h00 en la Cathedral de Saint-Boniface. Linhumation qui suivra aura lieu au cimetiere de St-Boniface, rue Archibald. Il y aura visionnement avant le service commencant a 9h30. Au lieu de fleurs, ceux qui le desirent peuvent faire un don a la charite de leur choix a la memoire de Jean Mahe. La direction des funerailles de Monsieur Jean Mahe a ete confiee au Salon mortuaire Desjardins, 233-4949 ou sans frais 1-888-233-4949. JEAN MAHE Peacefully on Monday, May 13, 2002 at the St. Boniface General Hospital, MB, Mr. Jean Mahe, aged 77 years, beloved husband of the late Henriette Mahe (nee Pelland). Left to cherish his memory are his three children, Paul (Linne), Louise (Maurice Legal) and Gilles; five granchildren, Christine, Francine, Gabrielle Mahe, Sylvie and Joel Legal; and one sister Clotilde Fontaine; his sisters-in-law, Violet Pelland, Olive Pelland, Marguerite Pelland, Raymonde Sym and Evelyn Mahe; one brother-in-law Henri Laplume; as well as numerous nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by his parents, Francois Mahe and Isabelle Saive; his brothers, Augustin, Joseph, Francois and Antoine; his sisters, Marie Gratton, Therese Laplume, Marguerite Choiselat and Madeleine Blain. Jean was born in Ste-Anne-des-Chenes, MB on November 9, 1924 and moved to St. Boniface with his family while in his teens. He worked for a few companies but settled at Modern Dairies where he spent most of his career as a Power Engineer. Through hard work, dedication and self-study he obtained his First Class Certificate in 1967 which served him well until his retirement in 1989. While always close to his family, after the passing of his wife and after his retirement, he became even more devoted to them, by visiting, driving and generally caring for his ailing brothers and sisters. But it was his children and especially his grandchildren who held that special place in his heart. Prayers will be held on Thursday, May 16 at 7:00 p.m. in the Desjardins Funeral Chapel located at 357 Des Meurons St. Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, May 17 at 10:00 a.m. in the St. Boniface Cathedral. Interment will follow in the St. Boniface Cemetery. Viewing will take place at 9:30 a.m. before the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity ones choice in memory of Jean Mahe. The Desjardins Funeral Chapel in care of arrangements, 233-4949 or toll free 1-888-233-4949.
