ELIZABETH MARY "BETH" POERSCH 1930 - 2002 Peacefully on Wednesday, May 15, 2002, at 10:00 a.m. at her daughters home, after a lengthy bout with cancer, with her family at her side. Beth leaves to mourn her passing and to cherish her memory her loving husband Robert Poersch; son Allan Gray; grandchildren, Nicole, Jami, and Andrew; daughter Susan (Gerry) Lamotte; grandchildren, David and Rayna (great-granddaughter Shaylee), Shane, Brock, and Kevin; son Kelly Gray; brothers, Frank Allan and David (Cindy) Booth; sisters, Shirley (Jim) Wilson and Donna (Don) Lindsay; as well as many nieces and nephews. Also surviving are uncles, Tom Allan and Murray Dunn; brothers-in-law, Murray (Viv) Gray, Gordon, Richard, Lloyd, and Norman Poersch, Fred Johnson; and sisters-in-law, Claire Ammies and Edith Neumann. She was predeceased by her first husband of 24 years Arthur Gray; her parents, Isabel and Harry Allan; brother Malcom Allan; and twin brother Alec at birth. Beth was a loving and caring person and dearly loved her family. She loved her birds, animals, and flowers, everything living. She had great pride in, and was well known for her colourful flower garden and yard. She had a talent for creating things; in her crafts, paper tole, and ceramic work; she could make something look good out of nothing. She loved music and played the chord organ beautifully. Beth loved her pets, Tweety the canary, and her forever loving dog Maggie, who was so faithful to her during her sickness. They were inseparable. Beth also served her community. She was a Past President of the Progress Rebekah Lodge, and a longtime member of the Morris Legion Ladies Auxiliary and Morris Lioness Club. The funeral service will be held Saturday, May 18 at 2:00 p.m. at the Lutheran Church of the Cross in Morris, Pastor Gary Russell officiating. Interment will follow in the Morris Cemetery. If friends so desire, donations in Beths memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Manitoba Division, 193 Sherbrook, Winnipeg, R3C 2B7; or the Winnipeg Humane Society, 5 Kent St., Winnipeg, R2L 1X3.
