BERTHA FRANCES LENORA GIRARD (nee Wahsquonaikezhik) On Wednesday, May 15, 2002 at the Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg, Bertha Girard, aged 45 years, beloved wife of Wayne Girard of Fort Alexander, MB. She leaves to cherish her memory her husband Wayne; children, Patrick, Natalie, John, Tiffany, Bradley, Tricia. Also surviving is her mother Margaret in Ontario, Theresa Haswood (Tulley) in New Mexico, U.S.A., Christina Wahsquonaikezhik (Harry) of Sioux Lookout, ON, Bernadette Recollet (Stanley) of Wikwemikong, ON, Josette Wahsquonaikezhik (Brad) of Winnipeg, Jean Debassige (friend Andy) of Sudbury, ON, Ernest Wahsquonaikezhik (Annette) of Keshina, WI, Gabriel Wahsquonaikezhik (Laurie) of Neopit, WI, Francis Wahsquonaikezhik (Beverly) of Sault Ste. Marie, ON, Luke Wahsquonaikezhik (Tara) of Fort Alexander, MB, Christopher Wahsquonaikezhik (Carol) of Sudbury, ON, Tina McCurly (Ken) of Birch Island, ON; her brother Archie Wahsquonaikezhik of Sault Ste. Marie, ON; as well as numerous nieces and nephews, relatives and friends. Bertha was predeceased by her father John Wahsquonaikezhik; her sisters, Celina Wahsquonaikezhik, Patricia Wahsquonaikezhik, Annette Rhodes, Rita Wahsquonaikezhik, Ida Paibomasai; and her brother Adam Wahsquonaikezhik. Wake services will be held at the home of Wayne Girard, Fort Alexander, MB, beginning May 17. Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 20 at 2:00 p.m. from the St. Alexander Roman Catholic Church, Fort Alexander, MB, with Fr. Laval Cloutier officiating. Interment in the Parish Cemetery.
