ALLYSON McRAE Allyson McRae, (Gummy), passed away suddenly, surrounded by her family, at Burnaby Hospital, Thursday, May 2, 2002. Born in Winnipeg, MB, May 2, 1923. She moved to Sweden for five years before returning to Winnipeg. Allyson attended primary school and graduated from Daniel MacIntyre Collegiate with honours. She met her husband Harvey, a flight instructor in navigation school in Winnipeg. They moved to St Johns, QC, for two years, then moved back to Winnipeg. Allyson was a District Commissioner for the Girl Guides for 10 years (three years at Phillips District). She then was employed at Childrens Hospital in Winnipeg as Junior Accountant, moving to manage the Nurses Association, (M.A.R.N.) as an Accountant. Predeceased by her husband Harvey Malcolm in 1976, and her son Malcolm "Mark" in 1954. Survived by her daughter Kim Riddell (Raymond) loving grandchildren, Mark Garrett (Crystal) and Allysyn-Rae Garrett; sister Velma English; nieces and nephews, Bobbie Gammon, Leslie Sandney, Sidney English, Mike English (Patti) and James English (Karen). No service by request. Cremation. Allyson will be laid to rest with her family at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens in Winnipeg. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Post Polio Awareness and Support Society of BC, or the Canadian Cancer Society.
