MARGARET LORNA TELFORD Peacefully, surrounded by the love of her family, Margaret Lorna Telford passed away on May 15, 2002, in her 86th year. Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 63 years, Don; her daughter Bonnie (John) Buhler; her son Bill (Cheryl) Telford; her granddaughters, Kathy Buhler (Sean Simmons), Barbara (Marc) Hache and Tracey Harwood-Jones (Jeff Pninowsky) her great-grandchildren, Calyn, Katherine, Jean-Marc, Michelle, Lorna-Jane and Ben. She is also survived by her sister Helen (Gordon) Phillips; nephew Gordon Shillingford and family and her beloved grandpuppy Benji. She was predeceased by her parents, Verna and William Craig; her brothers, Alan and Ken and her sister Dorothy. Mom was born in Winnipeg on February 8, 1916. She was a graduate of Kelvin High School and spent the early part of her married life on Vancouver Island where her two children were born. An accomplished pianist and lover of music, she took great pleasure in her support of the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra. She had a lifelong passion for reading and was most content when surrounded by her books and crossword puzzles. She enjoyed many happy summer days with her family at the cottage at Sandy Hook and Sundays were not complete without a stop at the Kelekis or Salisbury House restaurant. Mom was a woman of strong character whose integrity has been a shining example for us all. Her happiest moments were spent with her family and her legacy is the unwavering love and support she gave to us. Her family would like to extend thanks to the staff of 7 South at the St. Boniface Hospital for their care and compassion and to Moms Home Care team who helped her to remain at home as long as possible. Cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held. Flowers are gratefully declined and in remembrance of the pride Mom took in meeting Princess Ann at the opening of the John Buhler Research Centre, it would please her if you chose to make a donation in her memory to: Foundations for Health Inc.
