Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryWILLIAM (BILL) RICHARD BELL May 29, 1925 - May 25, 2002 It is with deepest sadness we announce the passing of Bill on May 25, 2002 at the Health Sciences Centre, surrounded by his family. He is lovingly remembered by his wife Ethel of 58 years, son Frank, daughter-in-law Jonena, daughter Marilyn and grandson Adam. He is also survived by brothers, Reginald (Phyllis), Fred (Gladys), Dave (Joanne) and sisters, Ethel (Ken) Surette, and Betty (Ron) LeBlanc; and sisters-in-law, Ellen and Bobbie; and a number of nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his mother Elsie, father Dick, and sister Alice. Bill was born in Brandon, MB. He lived in Brandon all his life except for the last 12 years when he moved to Winnipeg to be near his daughter and sons family. He joined the Army at age 18 and served with the Military Police at Shilo, MB. After the war he was an ambulance driver for Brandon Sanatorium and then he worked for the CPR Express for 34 years. He retired at age 60 to enjoy his first love, after his family, travelling in his motor home. With his wife Ethel, they travelled to various spots in the U.S.A. and Canada. Bill loved all sports and was an avid baseball player and bowler. He also loved boating and fishing at the cabin in Clear Lake. He loved having coffee with his many friends that he made in Winnipeg, and discussing the latest Blue Jays game. He was a member of Branch No. 3 Legion Brandon, MB and CPR Pensioners Association Winnipeg, MB. The ceremony to celebrate Bills life will be held at Memories Chapel & Pre-Planning Centre, 330 - 18th St., Brandon, MB, Thursday, May 30 at 1:00 p.m. Rev. Dale Woods will officiate. Pallbearers will be Cyril Pollitt, David Bell, Pat LeBlanc, Doug Nixon, Peter Josephson, and Bob Shepherd. Interment will follow in the Rosewood Memorial Gardens. Flowers are gratefully declined. Donations in memory of Bill may be made to Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 301 - 352 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3B 2H8, or the Health Sciences Centre, 840 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, MB R7B 1S2. Our thanks to the staff and doctors from the Health Sciences Centre for the wonderful care he received. Arrangements are with Memories Chapel & Pre-Planning Cenre, Brandon, Manitoba, 727-0330.
