DORIS (DORA) RZEPA On Sunday, May 19, 2002, at the Lions Prairie Manor, Dora Rzepa, of Portage la Prairie, widow of the late Anthony Rzepa, passed away at the age of 89 years. Funeral service will be held in the Chapel of the Omega Funeral Home on Thursday, May 23, at 1:30 p.m. with the Pastor Ray Willms officiating. Interment will follow in the family plot at Hillside Cemetery. Dora was born on October 13, 1912, daughter of Pearl and Anthony Spilcak at Amaranth, MB, where she was raised, and received her education in both Amaranth and Portage. On June 27, 1942, she married Anthony Rzepa and they continued to live in Portage. After her husbands passing, Dora was employed with the Nursing Residence in Portage for two years and at Winnipeg General Nursing Residence for 22 years as a "House-mother", retiring in 1981. Dora moved back to Portage in 1990. Dora enjoyed crocheting and many kinds of crafts. Predeceased by her husband Anthony in 1956; one sister Anne in 1990, she leaves to mourn her passing, one niece Caron and her husband Larry Rempel of Hope, BC; one great-niece Leah Garcia of Los Angeles, CA; and one great-nephew Wade Rempel of Vancouver Island, BC. Friends may call at the funeral home for viewing prior to the service. Should friends so desire, memorial donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
