BOHDAN (BUD) MICHAEL KURYK On Monday, May 20, 2002, Bud Kuryk passed away peacefully at St. Boniface Hospital with his family at his side. Bud was born on November 10, 1913 in Winnipeg. He will be sadly missed by his wife Terry; his daughter Maureen (Bob) Senff; and his son Jeffrey and wife Maxine; grandchildren, Joey (Gerri) Senff, Libby (Gary) Clark, Danny (Kim) Senff, Rebecca (Scott) Ruzicka, and Rachel Senff; and great-grandchildren, Jacob and Horizon Senff, and Alex and Brina Clark. He is also survived by his sister Mary Weppler and his brother Walter (Jean) Kuryk, and their families and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father and mother, Peter and Johanna his brother George and his sister Ollie Mattreck. Bud began his teaching career at Mars School in Libau, MB. His love of teaching took him to Brightstone S.D., Manitoba Home for Boys in Portage la Prairie and Carman, and Glenwood, Varennes, and Glenlawn Collegiate in St. Vital where he taught Industrial Arts. He had many fond memories of his teaching years and enjoyed meeting his former students. Bud loved to play bridge and for many years was a member of the Riverview Community Centre and the Glenwood Seniors Bridge Clubs. He also enjoyed playing golf and a highlight for him was a game with his great-grandson Alex, in Oak Lake. He loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren very much. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, May 24 at 10:00 a.m. in Christ the King Roman Catholic Church on St. Marys Road and Lennox, with Fr. Renato Pasinato presiding. Visitation will be one-half hour prior to the service. Interment to follow at Elmwood Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Bob, Joey, and Danny Senff, Gary Clark, Scott Ruzicka, and Bob Stefanick. The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to the nursing staff on the 4th and 8th floors of the St. Boniface Hospital for their care and compassion during Buds illness and to everyone who called and visited him.
