VERNA DELARONDE (GODARD)

VERNA DELARONDE (nee GODARD) After a lengthy illness, it is with great sadness the family of Verna DeLaronde announce her passing on May 20, 2002. Verna was born on December 3, 1926 in Camperville, MB. She married Gilbert DeLaronde on February 21, 1944. Together they raised 15 children. Verna was predeceased by her husband Gilbert on December 11, 1987; her children, Valerie, Maureen, Derek; granddaughter Jasmine DeLaronde; her sister Maggie Lafreniere; her brother Jean Baptiste Ledoux; two sons-in-law Jim Freeman and Nelson Beauchamp; sister-in-law Madeline Ledoux. Verna leaves to mourn her 12 children, Ursula Klyne (Conrad), Janet Freeman (Steve), Allan (Ruby), Lorne (Sharon), Gertrude Ledoux (Julius), Vivian Beauchamp, Ritchie (Debbie), Jerald (Debbie), Brian (Terry), Dewatt (Dorothy), Cynthia Lamarand (Brian), Karen DeLaronde (Tom). Verna also leaves to mourn a great many number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, family members and all the numerous friends Verna had touched throughout her life. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Fred Douglas Lodge Oak Unit for the wonderful care they gave our mother, and the kindness, patience and support shown towards the family. Prayers will be held on Thursday, May 23 at 7:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Seven Sorrows Church in Camperville, MB. Funeral mass will take place on Friday, May 24 at 2:00 p.m. also at the church, with interment to follow. A memorial service will be held Monday, May 27 at 10:30 a.m. at Kateri Parish in Winnipeg.
