ROY MARVIN LOCKHART

Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryROY MARVIN LOCKHART Suddenly, but peacefully, on Tuesday, May 21, 2002, at the St. Boniface Hospital, Roy passed away at the age of 70 years. He was predeceased by his parents, Hilton and Gladys Lockhart; his sister Bernice Swainson; and sons, Donald and Brian. Roy leaves behind his beloved wife Gerry of 31 years; sons, Aeron (Chris) Grice of Texas and Cohlen Lockhart of Red Lake, ON; daughters, Eileen (Ed) Schnerch of Balmertown, ON and Tracy Lockhart of Red Lake, ON and ten grandchildren. Roy was born in Brandon, MB, on August 20, 1931. He attended school in Flin Flon, Winnipeg and Pan American University in Edinburg, TX, where he concentrated his studies in the business and accounting field, eventually graduating as a Registered Industrial Accountant. He and Gerry met and married in 1971 and made their home in Winnipeg. Roys working career took him from the Canadian North to the American South. He retired in 1994 from the Audit Service Bureau of the Government of Canada. He and Gerry travelled to Texas and Mexico to visit their many friends, and for the last couple of years spent the winter months in Weslaco, TX. Roy enjoyed many hobbies and pastimes over the years, hunting and fishing and generally enjoying the outdoors. He was a Certified Hypno-Therapist and, in recent years became a PADI divemaster and introduced many people to the pleasures of SCUBA diving. He and Gerry made several trips to dive in Mexico and the Caribbean. Roy was also an accomplished musician on the saxophone, clarinet and keyboard, having organized and played with many different groups over the years. Roy loved all his family, and his fine sense of humour carried him through many difficult life experiences. He loved life and was an inspiration to us all. His favourite expression was "Itll be all right", words to live by. We love you Roy, and will remember you always. Special thanks to the staff of the St. Boniface Hospital for their care and understanding. Cremation has taken place and a Service of Remembrance will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, May 25, in Thomson Funeral Chapels, 669 Broadway.
