Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryADELINE MAITRE (nee FRADETTE) It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden but peaceful passing of our dear mother and grandmother, on May 22, 2002, at the age of 88 years. She was predeceased by her parents H. Fradette and Marthe (Beaupre) beloved husband Leon Maitre (1985) sisters, Alvine (and Tom) McCann and Delia Hill; and grandson Donald Chateau (1998) whose loss she felt especially deeply. Left to cherish her memory are daughter Jeannine (Gerald) Chateau and son Ronald (Gisele) Maitre; as well as grandchildren, Paul (Sandra) Chateau, Gisele (Darren) Oleksiuk, Melanie Maitre, Justin (Nicole) Maitre and Roland Maitre. She will also be remembered by sister-in-law Elise Usher and brother-in-law Stuart Hill; nieces, nephews and by several other family members and friends. Adeline was born on December 31, 1913, in the town of Laurier. After finishing school, she lived in Ste. Rose until 1956 when the family moved to Winnipeg. Adeline was a woman of great talent ranging from art mending, sewing and crafts to finishing furniture and gardening. Although especially proud of her meticulously organized family picture albums, she most enjoyed cooking, baking and entertaining for her family and friends. She will be remembered as a kind, loving woman who had a strong work ethic. She loved cats and always seemed to find enough room for yet another cat picture on the wall of her small room at Foyer Valade Nursing Home where she resided since March of 2000. A special thanks to all the caring staff at Foyer Valade for the excellent care and friendship they offered Adeline over the past two years. In accordance with Moms wishes, immediate cremation has taken place and a service of remembrance will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, May 30 at St. Eugene Church, 1007 St. Marys Rd. Interment to follow at Assumption Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations in Adelines memory may be made to the Foyer Valade Inc., 450 River Rd, Winnipeg, MB, R2M 5M4, or to a charity of choice. The Desjardins Funeral Chapel in care of arrangements, 233-4949; toll free 1-888-233-4949.
