STEPHIE (NANNY) KONIUCK (nee GWIZON) Peacefully at the age of 88 years, our mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother passed away on Saturday, May 25, 2002, at Seven Oaks General Hospital. She was predeceased by her husband Steve, brother Joe, and her parents. Mom is survived by her daughters, Sylvia Logie, Sonia (Adam) Halick; son Roy (Ollie) Koniuck; grandchildren, Jill Halick, Jason (Diana) Halick, Adam Jr. (Anita) Halick, Lainie (Fred) Ferjan, Angel (Julien Lavergne) Koniuck, and Casey (Linda) Koniuck; great-grandchildren, Cooper and Jesse Koniuck, Jasmine, Joey, and Lydia Halick and Tyler Ferjan. Stephie was known to her family and friends as a giver. She gave of herself without reservation, and asked for nothing but friendship and love in return. Her home was always open to anybody who wished to visit. She would cook full course meals just in case somebody would drop by. During her early working career Mom was employed for many years as chef at Glendale Country Club, where she made lasting friendships with many of the members and staff. She will be missed by family and friends. The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and support staff on 4 Unit 12 at S.O.G.H. for the loving care of our mother for the last 3 months. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 29 at 11:00 a.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St., with a Basilian Father officiating. Interment will follow at All Saints Cemetery.
