JEAN SHEMELY It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our Mom and best friend on Friday, May 24, 2002 at her home, after a courageous 13 month battle with cancer. Mom was born on August 23, 1921 in Central Butte, SK, the youngest daughter of William and Bertha Moore. She was raised and attended school in Central Butte. On September 29, 1951 Mom and Dad were married, sharing 41 years together. Mom enjoyed shopping, strawberry picking, canning, bowling and knitting. She also entered her knitting items at Red River Ex. where she won several second place awards. Left to cherish her memory are her two children, Catherine and Greg; one brother Albert Moore; numerous nieces and nephews across Canada and US. Also "the furry kids", Dylan, Sam and T.D. and her dear friend Vera Smith with whom she shared a special bond for over 40 years. She was predeceased by her husband Michael on October 26, 1992; her parents; her siblings, Ken, Edith, Annie, Grace, Donny, Alice, Walter and Hartley. Funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 29 with viewing one half hour prior to the service at Korban Funeral Chapel, 907 Main St. Interment to follow in Brookside Cemetery.
