MAURO MARTINELLI February 5, 1929 - May 26, 2002 After a brave fight against cancer, Mauro Martinelli passed away suddenly at 8:45 a.m., May 26, 2002. He was predeceased by his parents and survived by his sister Giovanna (husband Paolo) two nephews; one niece; and extended family in Italy. He will be sadly missed by his soulmate and best friend Dianna and her children, Sandra (Jason), Scott (Brenda and son Ryan), his family, and his dear friends. Mauro was born in Florence, Italy and came to Canada in his early 20s. He was passionate about gardening, music, the outdoors and cooking. He was true to his roots, a renaissance man. Dedicated and hardworking, he translated his passion for food and wine into a very successful career in the hotel industry. In his later years he enjoyed travelling and spent many happy times with Dianna in Florida. A celebration of Mauros life will take place Wednesday, May 29, at 11:00 a.m. at Neil Bardal Inc., 984 Portage Ave., Aubrey Street entrance.
