Date of Passing: May 26, 2002
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryCAROLYN RUTH YALLITS (nee HIEBERT) Peacefully on May 26, 2002, Carolyn passed away at St. Boniface Hospital. Carolyn was born in Winnipeg and resided in St. Vital most of her life. Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 32 years, Dave; and her son Michael. She is also survived by her parents Nellie and Dave Hiebert; sisters, Sharon Hiebert and Bev (Frank) Saywell; as well as her in-laws, Josephine and Vic Mann and sister-in-law Susan Bukta, who she considered a third sister. Carolyn will also be remembered by numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. After graduating from Glen Lawn High School, Carolyn began working at Great West Life. It was while working at Great West that she met and married Dave. She left Great West to move to Medicine Hat, AB, where she gave birth to Michael. The family returned to Winnipeg, and Carolyn decided to stay at home to raise Michael. Upon returning to work, Carolyn worked as a receptionist for many chiropractors throughout Winnipeg. She then joined the Credit Department of Unisource Ltd. While working here Carolyn was stricken with A.L.S. and was forced to quit working. The family would like to thank Unisource and its employees for their care and understanding during Carolyns illness. The family would like to thank the Palliative Care staff at the St. Boniface Hospital. During Carolyns short stay in hospital, the staff showed great care not only for Carolyn but also the well being of family members. A special thank you for Dr. Sickert for her tremendous help and guidance during Carolyns illness. Carolyns interests included golfing and curling with her work mates, roller blading and aerobics with the neighbours, and gardening. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that a donation in Carolyns name be made to the Palliative Care Unit of St. Boniface Hospital, Room D1003 - 409 Tache Ave., Winnipeg, MB, R2H 2A6. In keeping with Carolyns request cremation has already taken place and a memorial service will be held at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave., at 12:30 p.m. on Friday, May 31. DEAR LORD Put your arms around her Hold her in your tender care Make up to her for all she suffered And all she had to bear. She went through so much in silence Her spirits didnt bend She faced her pain with courage Until the very end. It broke our hearts to lose her But she didnt go alone For part of us went with her The day God called her home. Till we meet again - In true love - Dave Arrangements entrusted to: CHAPEL LAWN FUNERAL HOME CEMETERY AND CREMATORIUM 885-9715
