Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDR. USSHER RAYMOND CLAMAN Suddenly on May 21, 2002, Ussher Claman passed away at the Victoria General Hospital, at 66 years of age. He is survived by his wife Arlene; daughters, Alisa (Brad), Marla (Doray), Brenlee (Jamie) grandchildren, Kevin, Adam, Marcus, Talya; and stepchildren, Alison (Robert), Jessica, and J (Suzanne). He is also survived by his brother Sheldon (Louise) and his nieces and nephews, Erin, Sara (Mardy), and Jeffrey. Ussher was born January 12, 1936 in Beausejour, MB to Ben and Theresa Claman. He graduated from the University of Manitoba with a B.Sc. in 1959. He was a member of the first graduating class to receive a DMD in 1962. Ussher practiced in Elmwood until entering graduate school at the University of Oklahoma, graduating with a specialty diploma in Oral Surgery in 1967. He taught oral surgery at the University of Manitoba for several years. He practiced oral surgery from 1967 to 1991, when he was forced to retire as a result of a stroke. Ussher was a member of the Manitoba Dental Association, the Canadian Dental Association and a member of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada. During his years of practice he was closely associated with both the St. Boniface Hospital and the Misericordia Hospital where he was Department Head for 15 years. Ussher was a kind and loving husband, father and grandfather. He loved to spend time with his family and especially with his grandchildren. We will miss his laughter, sense of humour and gentle and caring nature. Funeral services were held at Shaarey Zedek Synagogue, Thursday, May 23. Pallbearers were J Rain, Doray Gurkaynak, Jamie Mihalchan, Mardy Yager, Jeffrey Claman and Frank Hechter. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or to a charity of ones choice.
