Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryNELLIE BIDINOSTI May 25, 1908 - May 29, 2002 It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Nellie Bidinosti, three days after her 94th birthday. Nellie will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her children, Reta (Desmond) Ross of Winnipeg, Victor (Helen) Bidinosti of Petersfield and Jim (Iris) Bidinosti of Selkirk; her seven grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, one great-great-granddaughter, one sister Lillian Morgan of Victoria, BC and many dear nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Angelo in 1985; her son Kenneth in 1955; granddaughter Denise Eastman in 2000, as well as three brothers, Whitney, Ross and Lance and three sisters, Ethel, Bertha and Edna. She was born on May 25, 1908 in Petersfield, MB to Thomas and Annie McConnell. Nellie and Angelo were married in 1928. Together they farmed and raised their four children in the Petersfield area. In 1954 they moved to the Fraser Valley in British Columbia, where they owned a small berry and chicken farm at Sardis. After retirement they built a new home in Sardis in 1963 and lived there very happily for many years until moving into an apartment in Chilliwack, BC in 1977. Nellie returned to live in Selkirk in 1993, remaining independent until September of 1999 when she moved to the Betel Home in Selkirk. Throughout her married life, Nellie was her husbands right-hand man, helping with the milking and herding of cows, haying, stooking, gardening, raising chickens and turkeys. She had always been an avid reader and letter writer and enjoyed keeping up with family with visits and phone calls. Her nieces and nephews have always been an important part of her life. She will be remembered by all those she touched with her love, kindness, wit and loyalty. We as family will always cherish her memory. A memorial service will be held at the Selkirk Gospel Chapel, 211 Eaton Ave. on Monday, June 3 at 11:00 a.m. with John Thomas officiating. Cremation has taken place and interment of ashes will take place in the Little Mountain Cemetery in Chilliwack, BC, beside her husband Angelo at a later date. Our sincere thanks to her lifelong friend Doris Carter for all the baked "goodies" and visits. Also, John Mackay for his faithful Sunday visits. Also, our thanks to the staff at the Betel Home in Selkirk for their kindness in looking after our Mom; the Home Care people who took care of her while living at Eaton Manor and thank you to the members of the Gospel Chapel. Should friends and relatives so desire, donations may be made in lieu of flowers, to one of Nellies favourite charities, The Canadian Cancer Society, 193 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, MB, R3C 2B7 or to the Canadian Red Cross Society, P.O. Box 2441, Stn. Main, R3C 9Z9 or the Salvation Army, P.O. Box 1932, Winnipeg, MB, R3C 2G1. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk, in care of arrangements.
