Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARGARET (PEGGY) LOPATA Margaret (Peggy) Lopata passed away in Scotland on February 11, 2002. Interment took place in Lasswade Cemetery, Scotland following a family service on February 16. Born Margaret Rae Kennedy on June 19, 1924, she married Izydor Lopata, July 10,1945. With their oldest son they immigrated to Canada in 1948 to start a new life. They first settled in West Kildonan, moving to the new home they built in East Kildonan in 1955, remaining residents of E.K. the rest of their married lives. Peggy was predeceased by her husband (1990) and her grandson Stephen Leitch (2001). She continued to have a strong affection for the land of her birth. Several years after the death of her husband Peggy decided to return to Scotland in 1998 where she lived the rest of her life. She was a resident of Mayburn House, Loanhead at the time of her passing. Peggy is survived by her sons, Vincent of Pinawa, and Stanley and wife Barbara of Winnipeg; daughter Betty and husband Don Leitch of Victoria, BC; two grandchildren, Andrew Leitch in Winnipeg and Rae Leitch in Victoria; one sister Mrs. Janet Frame of Loanhead, Scotland; and numerous nieces and nephews in Canada, Scotland, and Poland.
