VIOLET MAY SOLOMON DUCHINSKI June 20, 1923 - May 29, 2002 After a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer, Mom passed away peacefully with her daughters by her side. She will be sadly and deeply missed by the many people whose lives she touched. Mom had a unique talent for making everyone feel comfortable and safe. She was a natural caregiver and did this with true empathy and caring. Her coffee pot was always on for her family and friends. There was always room for one more at her table for a bowl of her delicious homemade soup. Mom loved to socialize; her passions were her music, dancing, gardening, bingo, cards and spending time with her family at the beach. She was predeceased by her first husband Oswald and their daughter Bertha; by her second husband John and stepson Max; her parents, Mary and Melvin Nelson; and her brothers, Raymond and Kenneth; grandparents, Helma and Martin Wold. She is survived by her immediate family, Natalie Easton (David), Noreen Bargenda (Garry), Bonita Solomon, Joan Hampshire (Bill), Theresa Zabolotny (David), Peggy Broek (Helmut), Kristy Thomson (Daryl) as well as 15 grandchildren and their spouses; and 16 great-grandchildren; and her much beloved siblings, Joyce Day (John), Lloyd (Marie) Nelson; sisters-in-law, Doris, Eunice; as well as numerous nieces and nephews, extended family and her many friends and lastly her treasured little companion these last years, her dog "Ole". Mom will be forever missed and lovingly cherished by all of us. There are many people the family wishes to thank for the support that was given to our mother and to us. To Moms doctors and nurses, her wonderful friends and to all who called her Mom. "We had joy, we had fun, we had seasons in the sun." "REST IN PEACE MOMMA" Cremation has taken place and a celebration of her life will be held on Monday, June 3 at 2:00 p.m. from the Lac du Bonnet Legion Hall, Lac du Bonnet, MB, with Rev. Canon J.W. Whitford officiating. If friends so desire, memorial donations in her memory may be made to a charity of ones choice. RUSSELL FUNERAL HOMES LTD. & CREMATORIUM of Beausejour, Manitoba are in care of arrangements. Call 1-866-424-6271 (toll free) or 268-2263.
