MARY G. RAY, O.T.REG. (nee CLARK) Peacefully, at the North York General Hospital, after a lengthy illness, in her 86th year. Beloved wife of Rev. Donald Ray, D.F.C., B.A., D.D. Loved mother of Judith Ray and her husband Fred Reynolds of Mission, BC, Ian Ray of Winnipeg and Duncan Ray of Columbus, OH. Survived by her sister Mildred Bourne of Toronto, ON; her brother Dr. Roy Clark (Norma) of Collingwood, ON; and many nieces and nephews. She will be sadly missed by her many close friends. Mary spent 1941 to 1945 in Scotland as an O.T. in Emergency Medical Services. Don joined the R.C.A.F. to follow Mary to Britain. Mary and Don were married on May 12, 1943 in Glasgow, Scotland. Returning to Canada, Mary served in the Toronto Psychiatric Hospital and Don completed his ministerial training in the United Church of Canada. Mary enthusiastically participated in the life of the church and the communities of Berwyn, AB, Kettleby, ON, Dauphin and Fort Garry, MB and Don Mills, ON. In addition, her special talents included silk scarf painting, batik and choral singing. Special thanks to family, friends and the staff of True Davidson Acres for their care and support of Mary over the past several years. Friends will be received at The Donway Covenant United Church, 230 The Donway West, Toronto on Sunday, June 2 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. A service of celebration and remembrance will be held on Monday, June 3 at 11:00 a.m. at the church. Reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Donway Covenant United Church, Mission and Service Fund of the United Church of Canada or to a charity of ones choice.
