DANIEL WILLIAM JAREMY February 24, 1945 - May 30, 2002 Dan Jaremy passed away peacefully in his sleep at Teulon Hunter Memorial Hospital after a lengthy battle with cancer and diabetes. Dan was born in Teulon and raised in Chatfield where he attended Spruce View and Poplarfield School. Following his high school graduation, he completed a year at Success Business College and then began work for Standard Aero. He continued to take business courses at university during the evenings and completed his Registered Industrial Accountant. Dan began working for Air Canada in 1967. Throughout his career he continually upgraded his education by taking courses in Winnipeg and Montreal. He retired after 33 years of employment. Dan enjoyed travelling and made several memorable trips. He travelled throughout much of Europe, Ukraine, and the Caribbean, but his favorite vacation spot was Hawaii, which he tried to visit at least once a year. Dan established D.W. Jaremy & Associates (Auditors & Accountants) which for many years provided income tax and accounting services, primarily to the Interlake region. Dan was devoted and loyal to his clients, taking a personal interest in their lives. At one time Dan golfed and fished but throughout the years his greatest enjoyment came from hunting. He also enjoyed a good game of cards at the end of the day with his brothers. Dan was very proud of his Ukrainian heritage and enjoyed traditional family gatherings and taking in cultural events. Dan is sadly missed by his brothers, Ron (Donna) of Ste. Rose du lac, MB, Taras (Ingun) of Morden, MB; his nieces and nephews, Shannon, Karmel, Reid, Max, Andrei, and Heidi; his uncle Maurice Probizanski of Thunder Bay, ON; and Josie Probizanski of Rothschild, WS; as well as numerous cousins. Dan was predeceased by his parents, John and Dorothy Jaremy; his brother Ted; and his niece Kelly. Prayers will be held at the MacKenzie Funeral Chapel, Teulon on Thursday, June 6 at 7:30 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Friday, June 7 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Stephens Church, Pleasant Home (four miles north of Teulon on PTH No. 7, three miles east, three-quarter miles north. Sign on PTH No. 7 - St. Stephens Church Pleasant Home). Rev. A Harkvij will officiate with interment to follow at the Windsor Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, if friends and family so desire, donations may be made in memory of Dan to the Canadian Diabetes Association or a charity of ones choice.
