ARLEN "A.B." BRAUNSTEIN February 22, 1952 - May 16, 2002 It is with profound sorrow we announce the sudden and tragic passing of Arlen Braunstein. He was predeceased by his father Max; sister Minda Namak; in-laws, Fanny and Ike Glesby and brother-in-law George Druxman. Lovingly remembered and deeply missed by his mother Ruth; beloved wife and best friend Carol; children, Rhonda Cooper and Murray Wystrach, Patrice Cooper, Lianne and Scott Simpson; granddaughters, Kylie Wystrach and Victoria Simpson; sisters-in-law, Marilyn Druxman, Donna Bradley (Bill) and Barbie Glesby; nephew Leslie Namak; nieces, Mandy Namak (Chris Randall), Carey Schwartz (Igor Abramovich), Jill Pickard (Tom), Tracy Shibou (Dan Savoie) and Nikki Shibou; many cousins, aunts, uncles, and close friends. At the young age of 23, Arlen took over his fathers business, Central Auto and Truck Parts. The following year, he met his soul mate, Carol. Together, with their daughters, they made their home near Birds Hill Park. As a family, they enjoyed cross country skiing, snowmobiling and horseback riding. Their summers were spent with family and friends at West Hawk Lake, where they enjoyed water skiing, boating, fishing and flying his floatplane. In 1989 they moved to California where Arlen pursued his passion for flying, in aircraft sales. In 1999, they settled in Point Roberts, WA, where Arlen established a new business in high tech systems for the direct sales industry. Recently, he returned to California, to resume his career in aviation. Arlens ability to dream and then chase his dreams was the essence of who he was. His family and friends could always count on him for encouragement and support to pursue their ambitions. Arlen had a gentle spirit that touched everyone who knew him. To see A.B. with his family was to see love shine at its brightest. He loved deeply and unconditionally. He had an innate gift of making everyone feel special. He had an amazing sense of humour and a laugh that was contagious. He was compassionate, sensitive and taught through example. We have so many memories of you, Arlen, and every one of them makes us smile. We love you, and we will miss you every single day. A private service was held at the Rosh Pina Memorial Park on May 22. Thank you to Rabbi Balser, the staff at the Rosh Pina Synagogue and the Chesed Shel Emes for their kindness and guidance. Donations may be made to the Arlen Braunstein Fund for Children at the Rosh Pina Synagogue or at the Jewish Foundation.
