DAVID CLIFFORD "Wee Davey" November 6, 1917 - May 31, 2002 It is with great sorrow, but wonderful memories, that we say good-bye to our cherished husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, David Clifford of Calgary, who left us suddenly on May 31, 2002. Davey was born in Belfast, N. Ireland and served his apprenticeship at T. Greaves, an Irish linen mill and then moved to Short & Harland, a shipyard and aircraft factory. One of his proudest accomplishments was playing semi-professional soccer and remained a staunch soccer fan. He came to Winnipeg, Canada in 1953 and worked for the C.N.R. as a Machinist. While in Winnipeg, he was a founding member of the Winnipeg Irish Association. He enjoyed many hours of singing with the Auld Bull & Bush entertainers. He retired in 1982 and moved to Calgary in 1990 where he enjoyed his very active life. He is survived by his wife Lily; daughters, Betty (Dennis) Bailey, Roberta (Fred) Small; grandchildren, Lisa and Kelly, David, Tyrone, Rory, Brett and Tara; his great-grandchildren, Nicholas and Steven Flaman; his sister Maggie Cunningham, her family, Molly, George and Sheila; his brother William "Billy" and Lily Clifford and their sons, David (Donna) and sons, Dean and Darren, Bill (Tinda), William "Bill" and Anne Brown along with their sons, Mason and Spencer.
