Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMURIEL G. DUTTON December 12, 1923 - June 4, 2002 It is with great sadness that the family of Muriel Dutton announces that she passed away peacefully at Concordia Hospital on Tuesday, June 4, 2002, with family and her dog Pippin at her side. Muriel was predeceased by her parents Stuart and Octavia Fisher; her husband John (Jack) on April 29, 1996; her very good friend Elizabeth Downie in May 2001; and her brother Stuart B. Fisher in July 2001. Muriel is survived by her son Paul and daughter-in-law Patrice Dutton of Dryden, ON; grandson Jeremy Dutton of Toronto; granddaughter Erin Dutton of Pass Creek, BC; her devoted Yorkshire Terrier, Pippin; her niece Florence (Alan) Gould; and children, Sherry Lynn and John Robert Gould of Winnipeg, Daphne (Ernie) Dzwier of Montreal; and sisters-in-law, Marnie Dutton of Oliver, BC, and Peggy McIntosh of Edmonton, AB. Born and educated in Southampton, England, Muriel enlisted with the WAAF during the Second World War. During that time she met her husband Jack Dutton of Winnipeg. They were married in South Sea in Hampshire England on May 20, 1944, and she came to Winnipeg as a war bride in 1945. Jack was employed with the CNR, and they resided for nine years in Thunder Bay before returning to Winnipeg in 1957. Muriel worked at Eatons on the switchboard and then in the office of Beatrice Foods, retiring in December 1988. Muriel and Jack enjoyed travelling and had many wonderful trips together. We wish to thank the staff of Concordia Hospital, especially the nurses and staff of 3 East and Dr. B. Gorski, for their support, untiring efforts and compassionate care of Muriel since January. We appreciate all the support from family and friends and Muriels neighbours during her illness and are especially grateful to Lynda and Ed Taylor on whom we relied so much. Muriels friends were so supportive during her illness. She appreciated all your visits, cards, flowers and efforts on her behalf. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 8 at 7:30 p.m. at Neil Bardal Inc., 984 Portage Ave., entrance on Aubrey Street, with the Venerable William Oakley of St. Bartholomews Anglican Church officiating. Interment of ashes will take place at St. Johns Cathedral at a later date. As Muriel was very fond of animals, if friends should desire, in lieu of flowers as an expression of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society, 5 Kent St., Winnipeg, MB, R2L 1X3, or to the Salvation Army, P.O. Box 1932, Winnipeg, MB, R3C 3R2, or to a charity of your choice. "Please hold her in your arms and treasure her with care, Make up for all she suffered And all she had to bear. Please whisper in her ear In case she didnt hear How much we truly loved her And wish she was still here." NEIL BARDAL INC. 949-2200 \r
