JULIUS WASSERMANN 1922 - 2002 Passed away on Tuesday, June 4 in Seattle, Washington. A graveside service was held on Friday, June 7 at Shaarey Zedek Cemetery with Rabbi Alan Green officiating. Julius was predeceased by his parents, Hannchen and Jakob Wassermann, who died in the Holocaust. He is survived by his brother, Sigi (Jacqueline) sisters Erna Florsheim (Alfred), New York, and Ilse Wassermann, Florida; and nephews and nieces across Canada. Julius immigrated to Canada in 1951, and a year later moved to the United States. For the last 27 years he lived in Seattle. The family would like to thank the medical and support staff at the Carolyn Kline Galland Home in Seattle for their compassionate and dedicated care of Julius during his last 10 months. Pallbearers were his niece and nephews, Michele and George Tedford, Trevor Wassermann, Dr. Jeffrey Wassermann, and family friends, David Cohen and Alec Gillman. Honourary pallbearer, Philip Simon. Donations may be made to the Carolyn Kline Galland Home, 7500 Seward Park Avenue South, Seattle, Washington, U.S.A., 98118, to the Canadian Cancer Society, or to a charity of your choice.
