Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryANNIE AMY MURRAY March 1, 1917 - June 4, 2002 With great sadness we announce the too sudden passing of our beloved Annie Amy Murray. Amy was predeceased by her husband Vincent Gregory in 1977; her parents, William and Margaret (Armstrong) Halliday; two sisters, Ellen and Isabel and four brothers, John, William, Lloyd and Hubert. Amy is survived by her children, Caroline (Scott) Duheme, Colleen (Bill) Norton and Vincent (Aki) Murray and by her three grandchildren, Amy Dressel, Graydon Dressel and Will Norton and her dear sister Gladys Lillie. Amy was born in Vista, MB and came to Winnipeg during the Second World War. She met the love of her life, Vincent, in Portage la Prairie and they married in 1942. She followed Dad through various provinces and the United States, until finally coming back to Manitoba where she lived happily until her death. Mom was proud of being from Vista, proud of being a longtime member of the Independent Order of Forresters, which she and Dad joined in the early years of their marriage. She enjoyed visiting and reminiscing old times with her nursing friends from Portage and she never forgot her roots. Mother loved to mend and sew. Some of her creations were beautiful, some were useful and some were just creations! Her humour was renowned, her love of nature and of Manitoba passionate and her devotion to her family steadfast. She taught us to accept flaws as well as talents, in ourselves and others. The care given Mum at the Victoria Hospital, Unit 5 is greatly appreciated by her family. In Winnipeg, viewing for family and friends will be held at Thomson Funeral Chapel, 669 Broadway, Thursday, June 6 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. In Rossburn, a celebration of Mums life will be held at Knox United Church on Friday, June 7 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at the Argyle Cemetery with lunch being served at the church following the interment. Should family and friends so desire, donations in Amys memory may be made to the Royal Winnipeg Ballet, Knox United Church, Rossburn, or a charity of your choice. Raes Funeral Service of Shoal Lake and Erickson in care of arrangements. 204-759-2160.
