KENNETH RONALD KNIGHT On June 4, 2002, at the E.M. Crowe Memorial Hospital, with his loving wife Doreen by his side, after a valiant fight with cancer, Kenneth Ronald Knight, aged 73 years, of Eriksdale, MB, passed away peacefully. Ron was born on January 16, 1929, in Winnipeg. He was a member of the armed forces, first in the army for three years, then in the air force for 25 years. His service took him to locations in Winnipeg, St. Hubert, Trenton, and with the U.N. in Egypt. He moved back to Trenton and then retired from the services in 1973. He resided in the Oatfield District west of Eriksdale for 29 years, then moved to Eriksdale in February 2002. He is survived by his loving wife Doreen (nee Mason) one brother Hugh (Eileen), of Winnipeg; four sisters, Betty Nagam and Geraldine "Biddy" Paquin of Eriksdale, Edna (Ed) Boss of Alberta, Ruth (Peter) Funk of Winnipeg; two sisters-in-law, Betty Mason of Westerose, AB, Margaret (Jim) Mitchell of Moosejaw, SK; along with many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 11 at the Eriksdale Recreational Center with Rev. Melanie Kauppila officiating. Interment to follow at All Hollows Tennyson Cemetery. Honorary Pallbearers that day will be all his friends he has made over the years. Special thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff at the E.M. Crowe Memorial Hospital in Eriksdale, and to his special buddy Shirley Surgenor. Your care will not be forgotten.
