Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemorySTEVE AUGUSTINE Peacefully on June 7, 2002 in Ste. Anne Hospital with his family by his side, Steve passed away at the age of 78 years. Steve leaves to mourn his passing and cherish his memory, Eric (Gail), Catherine and Monica Augustine; grandchildren, Mikel, Mark, Stephen, Colby, Lisa (Paul), Mark and Derek; his brother Louis (Anne) Augustine; sisters-in-law, Frances, Vera and Shirley Augustine, Mary Konechny, Mildred (Ben) Sveinson; brothers-in-law, Joe (Mary) Prokopich, Mike (Rose) Prokopich and John Prokopich, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Anne; parents, Stephen and Elizabeth Augustine; brothers, Rudy, Michel, Joe, Emil, Earl; and sisters, Mary, Anne, Agatha and Betty. Steve was born in Ockov, Czechoslovakia on October 15, 1923. He immigrated to Canada with his parents in 1938 to a farm in Dufresne, MB. Steve served in the Canadian Armed Forces from 1943 to 1946. In 1950 Steve married Anne Prokopich and they resided in the Dufresne area where they farmed and raised their family. Besides farming, Steve worked in the construction industry. He enjoyed visiting with family and friends, keeping in touch with relatives in Czechoslovakia and Toronto, dancing and gardening. He was an active member of St. Michaels Roman Catholic Church in Dufresne. Steve was devoted to his family. Dad, we will miss your kindness, generosity and all your love. The family would like to thank Dr. J. Gobeil and staff of Ste. Anne Hospital for their care and support. Prayers will be said on Monday, June 10 at 7:00 p.m. at Green Acres Funeral Chapel, Highway 1 East at Navin Road. Funeral mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, June 11 at 2:30 p.m. at St. Bernadette Parish, 820 Cottonwood Rd. with Father Fred Olds presiding. Interment will take place in Green Acres Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Steves grandsons, Stephen, Mikel, Colby and Mark, Paul Nardella and Ed Manaigre.
