RUBY HUNNIE Peacefully, on June 7, 2002, at The Betel Nursing Home in Selkirk, MB, Ruby Hunnie passed away at the age of 78 years. Ruby was predeceased by her husband Alexander in 1981; her son Robert in 1983; and daughter Geraldine in 2002. She was also predeceased by her mother Victoria; father Peter; and brothers, Peter and Robert. Mom will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed by her children, Bonnie (Arnie), Bernice (Ernie), Verna (Jerry), Violet (Cliff), Jeannitt (Ed), Marion (Gary), Colin, Lorraine (Herman), Eric (Karen), Jackie, Marlene (Bill) and Tracy as well as her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, other extended family members and friends. Ruby was born in Beaconia, MB, on June 22, 1923, and resided in Grand Marias until her marriage to Alexander, later moving to Libau, East Selkirk, then spending 41 years in Narol before moving to The Betel Home Foundation in Selkirk in 1999. Mom enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She also enjoyed gardening and getting together with the Narol Golden Agers. During Moms stay at The Betel Home, she was involved in many of their activities. A prayer service will be held on Monday, June 10, at 7:00 p.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel. The funeral service will take place on Tuesday, June 11, at 10:30 a.m. also at the Gilbart Funeral Chapel with interment to follow in the St. Johns Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery, Poplar Park, MB. Rubys pallbearers will be Paul Crones, Jerry Kaczmer, Herman Kehler, Bill Manchulenko, Ed Nordal and Wayne Pierce. Rubys family wishes to extend special thanks to the staff at The Betel Home for their care and compassion. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk, in care of arrangements. \r
