JURAJ (GEORGE) KASUNIC After a lengthy illness on Friday, June 7, 2002, Juraj (George) Kasunic, aged 62 years, peacefully passed away. Juraj is survived by his beloved wife Ljubica (Violet) daughter Lidija (Joe) and their children, Tatianna and Justin; son Michael (Renata) mother Maria Cvitak; sister Mira (Bob) McColm and their children, Chris, Anne, and Greg; mother-in-law Slavica Mikasinovic; cousins, Joe and Vlado Kasunic and their families. Also left to mourn are many extended family and friends across Canada, Croatia and Australia. Juraj was born in Duga Resa, Croatia in 1939. After he completed a technical engineering degree, Juraj immigrated to Canada in 1967, where he worked for 25 years in tool design at Standard Aero. Juraj looked forward to his early retirement and spending time in his homeland. He was very involved in the Croatian community, and worked hard for Croatian independence. Juraj was a devoted husband, father, brother and son. He was very supportive to his children, family and friends, always willing to give a helping hand. He will be sadly missed by all those who knew him and loved him. A prayer service will be held at Glen Eden Funeral Home on Monday, June 10 at 7:00 p.m. Funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, June 11 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Nicholas Tavelich, 2688 Main St. with viewing one half hour prior, with Father Franjo Visaticki officiating. Interment in Glen Eden Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Stroke Recovery Association of Manitoba Inc., 1-333 Vaughan St., Winnipeg, MB, R3B 3J9.
