JACOB WILLIAM EPLER With sadness, we announce the passing of our husband, father and grandfather, Jake Epler, on Sunday, June 9, 2002. Jake will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 49 years, Ruth and their four children, Clinton (Kelly), Cynthia (Dana), Fay (Butch) and Kristin (Todd). He is survived by his grandchildren, Patrick, Tracey, Joel, Janelle, Chad, Trisha, Kirk and Jason. Jake is also survived by his brother August (Beth), and lifelong friend John (Jean) McClure. Predeceased by his parents, Jacob and Charlotte Epler; and sisters, Whilemina in infancy, Elizabeth and Anne. Jake lived and farmed for many years at Brunkild. He retired from the Department of Natural Resources in 1983 and took up his many hobbies, which included golfing, bowling and visits to the RehFit. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 13 at 2:00 p.m. at the St. Pauls Evangelical Lutheran Church in Brunkild, with Pastor Greg Fowlie-Neufeld officiating. Viewing prior to the service. Interment will follow in the Brunkild Cemetery. The family wishes to express appreciation to the staff at Seven Oaks General Hospital for their exceptional kindness and care. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Pauls Lutheran Church Building Fund, or to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Doyles Funeral Chapel of Carman in care of arrangements.
