MARIA ROMEO Peacefully, at the Concordia Hospital, Maria Romeo, our beloved mother and grandmother, passed away on Monday, June 10, 2002. Maria was born in Italy on October 7, 1909 and was predeceased by her husband Dominic in 1960 and daughter Kathleen in 1989. She leaves to mourn and cherish her memory, daughter Pam (Jim) son Joseph (Stella) three grandchildren, Lynn Armstrong (Rick) of Ottawa, Dean Lambert of Winnipeg, and Brenda (Richard) Thompson of Calgary; seven great-grandchildren, Joey, Stefanie of Calgary, Gregory and Bradley of Ottawa, Josh, Jody and Jacob of Winnipeg. Maria was a lifetime member of St. Michaels Friendly Settlers Senior Club where she enjoyed many of their activities and friendship. The family wishes to express their thanks to the staff at Middlechurch Home, where she resided for six years, for the care and compassion shown to her while she was a resident. A special thanks to Denise, Rosie, and Mavis, also to the doctors and nursing staff of N3 East at Concordia Hospital. A special thanks to David and Ann for the special care and attention given to Maria while she was a patient there, also a special thanks to Dr. S. Husarewycz for his dedication to Maria. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, June 13 at 11:00 a.m., at the Blessed Sacrament Parish, 425 Rosseau Ave. E., Transcona, with Fr. Wenceslao Rebillaco officiating. Pallbearers will be Marias great-grandchildren. A private family interment will follow on Friday, June 14 at St. Marys Cemetery. Flowers gratefully declined. Donations may be made in Marias memory, to the Middlechurch Home, 280 Balderstone Rd., West St. Paul, MB R4A 4A6. Transcona Funeral Chapel in care of arrangements.
