Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryEMORY ALFRED ROGERS With sadness we announce the passing of Emory Alfred Rogers of Winnipeg on June 10, 2002 at the Grace General Hospital after a remarkable recovery from surgery on April 26, 2002. Emory was born to David and Anna Rogers on June 14, 1911 in Rapid City, MB. There, he grew up helping his parents in their Bake Shop and Ice Cream Parlour. Upon leaving home, his first employment was with Smiths Elite Bakery in Winnipeg for ten years. Emory then assisted his brother Alvin in his Bake Shop in Bissett, MB. Later, he returned to Winnipeg and was employed by Fosters Cakes, Jeanies Bakery, Eatons and The Bay. On September 21, 1957, Emory married Florence Pope of Winnipeg. Together they purchased and operated Greenwood Bakery until retirement in 1976. Emory was predeceased by his wife Florence in July 2001; his parents, brothers, Alvin and Elwyn; sisters, Marion and Elaine. Left to mourn his passing are four sisters-in-law, two brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews. In accordance with his wishes, a private family interment took place at Brookside Cemetery on June 14, 2002. Thank you Stan for the daily visits, care and assistance to Uncle Emory over the past few months. Also to the 4 South nursing staff at Grace Hospital for the compassion shown to him, and to Chaplain Gordon for your words of encouragement. "We will miss you Uncle Emory."
