Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryRUDOLPH JOSEPH ALBERT BOUVIER "RUDY" 1949 - 2002 Rudy was born in Gravelbourg, SK on October 11, 1949; he died on June 6, 2002 at Norway House, MB. After a courageous battle with cancer and diabetes, Rudy peacefully joined his father and friends in heaven. His close family and friends witnessed his answer to the call of "Welcome home". Rudy was predeceased by his father George Bouvier. Precious memories of Rudy will remain for mother Leona Bouvier of Regina, SK; partner Renie Paupanekis of Norway House; childhood friend Don Mooney of Regina; godson Clayton Smale of New Bothwell, MB; special buds, Ralph Grobowsky and Terry Solomatanko. Jordan and Kaitlyn Apetagon will forever remember their Pa-Pa Rudy. In Rudys 30 years in Norway House, he made a countless number of friends through work, sports and social activities. Most, if not all will remember him for his antics, jokes, laxy daisy attitude, but most of all the patience and love he had for all ages. His "girlfriends" were a wide range of ages who fought jokingly amongst each other for his attention. Prior to moving to Norway House on June 16, 1972, Rudy worked in British Columbia and Saskatchewan. Obtaining his steam engineering paper brought him to Norway House Hospital where he worked until he became ill. He and Eric Ross were responsible for getting the firearm safety program in operation. All skeet shooting competitions during York Boat Days were tended to by him. Rudys favourite time of year was in the fall when he went moose hunting at King Fisher and deer hunting in Saskatchewan with his buds. Many people enjoyed his creation of wild food. He grew to love Norway House and his wish had been to be buried in Norway House. Burial was Sunday, June 9, Towers Island United Church at 1:00 p.m., with Sister Marie Finn and Rev. Olive Flett officiating. Pallbearers were Reggie and Derek Paupanekis; Terry Solomatanko; Alvin Ferland; Don Mooney; Matthew Ksiazkiewicz; and Eric Ross. Honorary pallbearers were Ralph Grobowsky; Herman Wulff; Kaitlyn and Jordan Apetagon; Andy and Allan G. Mowatt; James, Bongo, Ken and Stan Paupanekis; Trevor and Andre Arsenault; Gordan Swanson; Allan Gerski; Art Ladd; Nelson Scribe Jr.; Ron Evans; James Palmer; Ron and Leonard Gartner; Fred, Louis, Ferdinand and Dennis Gauthier; Ivas Saunders; Florian Soble; Jim Walker (Afco) and Brenda Smale. Many thanks to Boardman / Northland Funeral Home, Skyward Aviation and Norway House Cree Nation. Words cannot express the gratitude to the nurses and doctors of Norway House Hospital for the tender care you provided to the end. You are considered family and proved it. If we have forgotten anyone, it was not intentional. To everyone who visited, called and sent donations: it is sincerely appreciated. "Happy Hunting Rudy" Funeral entrusted to Boardman / Northland Funeral Home, Thompson, MB.
