Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryFRANCES DOROTHY SIMCOE GALAY (nee AMBROZY) October 8, 1920 - June 11, 2002 It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our Mom, Baba, Great-Baba and sister, after a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer. Mom will be sadly and deeply missed by her daughters, Gloria (Bill) Kowalchuk, Shirley (Harvey) Nerbus, Violet Fieblekorn, Sally (Charlie) Hirst; sons, Richard (Joyce) Simcoe, Allan (Teri) Simcoe and Clifford Simcoe; as well as 17 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren. Frances also leaves her sisters, Verna, Helen and Sophie; and a brother Adam; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her first husband Pete in 1969 and by her second husband Orest Galay in 1999; by her parents, Andrew and Catherina Ambrozio; her brothers, Barney, Stanley, Walter; and a sister Sally; and her great-grandchild Sara Blunderfield. Before Moms illness she loved playing cards and gardening and there was always a story to be told at the family gatherings. Throughout the years of her illness she never complained and always said it could be worse. Mom will be forever missed and lovingly cherished by all of us. There are many people the family wish to thank for the support that was given to our Mom, Baba and as well to us. Thanks to Dr. Opie, Dr. Dellipizzi, nurses and aides of the Pinawa Hospital, the Home Care workers Emilie and Seta. Mom would always look forward to their visits and to Sharon Kuzyk, Sharon Turner and Cheryl Smith for their support and to her dear friends at Parkview Apartments who always visited. A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, June 15, 2002 at 11:00 a.m. at Russell Funeral Homes, Beausejour, MB, with Rev. Brian Rountree officiating. Services will terminate at the chapel, with cremation to follow. Her grandchildren will be her honorary pallbearers. If friends so desire, memorial donations in her memory may be made to the Pinawa Hospital, Lac du Bonnet Home Care Services or to the Manitoba Arthritis Society. "You can only have one mother, Baba, loving, kind and true. No other friend in the world will Be so true to you. For all her loving kindness, She asked nothing in return. If all the world deserted us, To our mother we could turn. For those of us who have a mother, Treasure her with care, For you will never know her value, Till you see that shes not there. To hear her voice, to see her smile, To sit and talk with her a while, To be together in the same old way, Would be our dearest wish today." RUSSELL FUNERAL HOMES LTD. & CREMATORIUM of Beausejour, Manitoba are in care of arrangements. 1-866-424-6271 (toll free) or 268-2263. Courtesy parking is available in the rear.
